Reproducing artwork for print or web is not as straight-forward as you may think.
Many of our artists use very different techniques in the way they produce their work, from thick paint impasto, collage or fine, near-photographic painting. Each artwork needs different lighting, colour-balancing, contrast and saturation in order to portray the work as being identical to the original. This also helps us when producing Giclée prints for artists who require limited edition print runs.
The high resolution images can reveal the smallest detail of impasto painting techniques, allowing the viewer to appreciate the strength and dynamism of the artist’s creative process at close quarters.
To date, we have photographed artwork from the size of a postage stamp to a 6 metre panorama.
Profiles and CMYK Conversion
Our extensive knowledge of colour profiles and CMYK conversion ensures peace of mind between screen and print. When reproducing artwork, colour profiles are one of the most important things to consider. Colour profiles are like languages – it can be easy to lose the subtleties of certain colours in translation between profiles. Using our state-of-the-art software, we ensure this does not happen with the images we produce, providing you with images in the correct profiles for your desired use, from RGB profiles for use on screen to CMYK profiles for use in print.
Whether at the artist’s residence, at the gallery or in the studio, we can set colour profiles for individual clients or for printers’ digital or lithographic presses.
Framed and Glazed Artwork
There is no need to worry if your artwork is framed or behind glass – when reproducing artwork we have a series of filters and certain techniques to avoid any unwanted reflections.
