Angela Palmer
Six sculptures by Scottish artist Angela Palmer created to mark the 30th anniversary of the Oxford Vaccine Group. The sculptures, woven by expert basket makers and willow weavers Jenny Crisp, Issy Wilkes and Mel Bastier, represent several of the most important vaccines in which the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) played a key role, including those for malaria, Ebola, typhoid, pneumonia, meningitis, and the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Each sculpture is made from willow, a tree native to the UK and a material imbued with historical medicinal associations dating back over 3,500 years. To create the pieces, Palmer worked closely with the weavers, who interpreted the forms from scientific drawings, electron microscope images and sketches.
We had the pleasure of documenting the final stages of Palmer’s process from the last bits of weaving to the sculpture installation.

Paul OZ
Paul Oz is an explosive British portrait artist – focused on the maximum 3D impact and energy in thick oil paint. Well known for travelling the world live painting with Formula One – Oz has also created work with Team Sky on the Tour of Britain, Chelsea FC to celebrate their 2017 title win, and for Lamborghini at the launch of their Urus.
SRS has been collaborating with Oz since 2018, Oz came to us knowing we had the expertise to capture the thick texture and rich colours in his impasto paintings.
Oz has used our photogrammetry rig as a starting point for many of his F1 projects, from scanning James Hunt to Ayrton Senna. Once that digital data has been processed we upload those models onto his custom designed website.

Murray Grant
Grant was born and brought up on and is now a Director of El Karama Ranch, a working property that combines wildlife conservation with holistic cattle ranching and innovative agriculture. El Karama is considered a forerunner in sustainable business practices in Kenya. Based in the Laikipia region, one of the country’s most diverse and successful habitat and wildlife conservation areas, Grant’s home gives him access to some of the world’s most unusual wildlife experiences.
He is one of very few Sculptors in his field who lives and breathes his subject full time. Grant continues to live and work at El Karama with his wife and two children contributing to conservation through his Fine Art. His private studio is next door to the award-winning eco-tourism safari lodge that he founded in 2004, which welcomes wildlife enthusiasts and responsible travellers from all around the world.

Grant’s bespoke website acts as a window into his stunning creative process from documenting and monitoring wildlife, from initial sketches all the way to cast and patinated bronze. We also maintain the online Catalogue Raisonné.
Karen Browning
Browning has used glass as a recurrent medium throughout her productive career and is constantly experimenting by pushing the boundaries of her creative practice. Browning’s innovative use of materials and processes combined with in-depth research results in physically reactive combinations. She holds a degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Site-Specific Sculpture and in Glass.
She frequently works with different artists producing exciting, collaborative work and exhibitions. For many years she has worked alongside leading glass artist Colin Reid, as his studio assistant. She was selected as Member of Royal Society of Sculptors since 2015. In 2022 Browning Won the British Glass Biennale.

Sabin Howard
WWI Memorial
On January 26, 2016, the World War 1 Memorial Commission announced the selection of the World War 1 Memorial Design Time and Concept. Architect Joe Weishaar and Sculptor Sabin Howard’s design The Weight Of Sacrifice was chosen for the National World War 1 Memorial at Pershing Park in Washington D.C.

Laurence Edwards
A Thousand Tides
We worked extensively with both Laurence Edwards and Phil Cairney to facilitate their 2016 documentary, A Thousand Tides. Recording high-quality interviews and footage at his foundry in Suffolk.
A Thousand Tides: 2016 film by Phil Cairney that looks at the work of British sculptor Laurence Edwards, his bronze-casting technique, Suffolk surroundings, and his unique tribute to his Butley Mills studio: an over-life size, site-specific bronze entitled A Thousand Tides.
Treasure From The Wreck Of The Unbelievable
Steve Russell Studios was commissioned by Science (UK) Ltd. to photograph a collection of coralised and intricate bronzes as they emerged from the floor of the Indian Ocean. This project involved several trips to Zanzibar and the Tanzanian coast, working aboard the ‘Baking Tray’ – a semi-affectionate term for the boat on which Steve was based. These works then formed part of an exhibition by British contemporary artist Damien Hirst. Held in Venice from April – December 2017 and showing in two exhibition spaces simultaneously, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, this exhibition marked the first time both venues were dedicated to showing work by a single artist.
All Of Nature Flows Through Us
Steve was commissioned to photograph the installation of Marc Quinn’s work ‘All of Nature Flows Through Us’, which is situated outside the Kistefos Museum in Norway.
‘This unique site-specific sculpture, an eye cast in bronze, is more than 10 metres in diameter and weighs more than 12 tons.
Installed in the river at Kistefos in Norway, the work interacts with nature in a highly dramatic manner and can be seen as an epitome of Quinn’s diverse and poetic work; a continuing meditation on our attempts to understand and overcome the transience of human life through scientific knowledge and artistic expression.’
